001 ://   GENERAL RULES. This blog is mutuals only, selective and the classic RP rules apply. Don’t bother following me if you are homophobic, Islamophobic, xenophobic etc. or write gender-bended muses, self-cest, incest, or muses with affiliations to n@zi or n@zi-like groups in certain fandoms; the exception I make is Bucky Barnes. Blogs writing real people will be blocked.
NOTE: Breaking my rules constantly will result in being blocked.
002 ://   FANDOMS. I am open to interact with most fandoms, except: The Handmaid's Tale.  003 ://   FACECLAIMS. I won’t follow you if you use a known problematic faceclaim such as the following: Scarlett Johansson, Amber Heard, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Cruise & Jeremy Renner.
I do not use Hayley Atwell as my faceclaim for Peggy because of her behaviour towards other actresses and while I will occassionly reblog a gif set containing her, I want to distance myself from her person here. Every gif set reblogged with her face will be tagged hayley atwell tw.

004 ://   POSITIVE SPACE. I try to keep my blog a positive space. While I believe that callout posts can be useful and also necessary, I try to focus on the positive side of Tumblr!  005 ://   DUPLICATE FRIENDLY. I honestly just love talking to people who write the same muse I write!  006 ://   DISCLAIMERS & CREDITS. I neither own the rights to the muses written, nor am I affiliated with any of the actors portraying them. The resources I use are: [THE PSD](). [THE CAPS]().  007 ://   TRIGGERS & TAGGING. At the moment I tag the following: spiders, graphic blood, violence, clowns. If you want anything tagged, please contact me!

008 ://   SHIPPING & NSFW THEMES. I ship chemistry, and I am pretty open to shipping! I do not ship anything incest-related, and I won’t ship with underage muses for obvious reasons. As I am of age, there might be NSFW themes present. I tag everything nsfw and nsfw-ish related. NOTE: While I ship Peggy and Steve, I will not assume that any blog with the muse Steve Rogers does so! I will only write a ship after discussing it with the other mun involved! Please leave this blog if you ship anything incest-related or have any ships with an underage muse.  009 ://   CANON DIVERGENCE. I do not agree with every decision made in the MCU, therefore I have decided to rewrite / ignore parts of canon and pick and choose my own. If you have any questions about my portrayal, please just ask me!Some things to remember: I do not portray Peggy as a white Christian woman, and therefore have changed her background story to a certain degree.

VERSES.

EVERYBODY IS ON A QUEST AND SO THE REST OF THE WORLD CAN WAIT.
EARLY DAYS. ://
Peggy Carter joined the war to fight against the evil – it’s as easy as that and yet, it was never quite so easy. As a woman, she was not seen as someone who should be on the front line or who should be involved in the war, at all; but as someone who always had had their own head, Peggy stubbornly fought her own battles while excelling in code breaking and martial arts. She still thinks about her brother, who believed in her and whose death was one reason she finally made the decision to let the life, people like her mother wanted her to live, behind and join the army. This verse follows Peggy’s early life and the events leading up to PROJECT REBIRTH.
IT'S TIME FOR MY REHEARSAL, THE ULTIMATE REVERSAL.
CAPTAIN CARTER. ://
What if... Peggy Carter had become the first avenger? A question this universe answered as Project Rebirth was about to fail and Peggy, quick-thinking as she always had been, jumped in to not let the project go to waste after Steve Rogers had been shot; Peggy became the first avengers, the super soldier that… everyone should have hoped for, right? No. Even with amplified strength and super human abilities, she had to fight to be taken serious – and then she became CAPTAIN CARTER, fighting the battle she had always wanted to fight at least and with the trusty Hydra Stomper at her side, nothing could go wrong. Or so she thought for a moment. This verse follows the WHAT IF … ? episode about Captain Carter until she steps into the portal created by the Tesseract.
STAY ON THE OTHER SIDE, IN THE UNIVERSE OF CRAZY LIES. ://   parallel universe. But what if Peggy had stepped out of the portal created by the Tesseract, and it was not even her own universe? Or what if the Watcher let her step through a portal taking her to a universe that would answer her pleading for her a HAPPY END, just as he had done for Natasha? What if? The big questioned answered here again. An AU in which Peggy entered the regular MCU timeline. She still is CAPTAIN CARTER and not the regular Peggy of the already established universe and her appearance might cause some confusion; after all, she is a completely different person!

I DANCE WITH THE GHOST OF YOU; WHAT ELSE CAN I DO? ://   agent carter. And here it is, the universe in which Peggy Carter remained just an agent because everything with Project Rebirth went the way it had been planned – or at least until the explosion and the death of Dr. Erskine. Steve Rogers became Captain America, fought in the war and then vanished, making everyone think he died the heroic death that just seemed fitting for someone like him. Peggy never lost hope that he might be found again, but life had to go on for her and while the war ended, work at the SSR never seemed to stop. A verse in which the timeline the MCU and Marvel’s Agent Carter gave us, will be explored.  ALL YOU GET IS ALIBIS, WHEN SMOKE BEGINS TO FADE. ://   avenger. Stepping out of the portal, she did not know where she would end up to. Of course she had hoped to be just back where she had started – but more than seventy years had passed since she had vanished and the war was won. That was not the only shock; seventy years was a long time and once this news made it through to her, she realized that… everyone was gone; the man she had fancied, the people she had been friends with… But there was no time to be sad and grieve, as there were new adventures waiting and new battles to be fought. And how else should she stay sane, after all, but work and work and work? Being ripped out of her own time, just again by an omniscient being, might be a way to go. This verse follows the events after Peggy’s appearance in the modern day. The rewrites for the movies can be found on the next page:

NOTES ON CAPTAIN CARTER.

CAPTAIN CARTER - THE FIRST AVENGER
Peggy Carter joined the war efforts after her brother’s death in early 1940 when she was just 19 years old. She became an agent and spy and ultimately was sent to Germany to rescue Doctor Abraham Erskine from Castle Kaufmann in Bavaria in November 1940, where she posed as a German maid. The rescue of Dr. Erskine built the foundation of Project Rebirth and Peggy being responsible for Dr Erskine’s rescue, became deeply involved with the Project even though she was / is not a scientist and her involvement was a thorn in the side of her male superiors. Dr Erskine, on the contrary, trusted Peggy and so did Howard Stark, who, too, was part of the Project.
Fast-forward to Stark Expo in 1943. Peggy Carter had been involved with other missions, too, and is now 22 years old. Just as Howard and Dr Erskine, she also visits the Expo – partially because she feels responsible for Dr Erskine’s safety, partially because she is curious about it and partially because she wants to see Howard and his ridiculous invention fail. At this point, she does not know that she actually (kind of) met Steven Grant Rogers, who is drafted the same night by Dr Erskine personally.
New Jersey. Camp Lehigh. Peggy’s involvement with Project Rebirth allows her to get involved with the training of the possible candidates, too. She meets Hodges (and his face meets her fist) as well as Steve and the other candidates. The training happens as seen in the MCU, only that I would like to argue that Peggy and Steve had more moments in which they held short, but (for Peggy) surprisingly nice conversations and got to know each other better. Fast-forward to the day Steve Rogers should have become Captain America.
Cue the events of Peggy’s What If … ? episode happening. Steve is shot and therefore cannot step into the machine. Dr Erskine as well as Colonel Phillips are killed. Peggy steps in and gets the super soldier serum. Everything else happens as seen in the episode. Now-Colonel John Flynn doesn’t take Peggy serious nor the threat the Tesseract could be. Peggy, helped by Howard, gets to Germany and acquires the Tesseract, leading to Howard building the Hydra Stomper for Steve shortly before Peggy frees the 107th from their imprisonment. Following those events are several fights / battles against Hydra all over Europe, until the Schnellzug incident.
While hoping to stop Hydra for good and having got intel on Red Skull’s whereabouts, Peggy and the Howling Commandos as well as Steve and the Hydra Stomper want to surprise Red Skull, who supposedly is travelling by Schnellzug – only that it was a trap and Steve and the Hydra Stomper are lost. After more intel of Arnim Zola and being told about Red Skull’s plan with, another mission to stop Hydra is planned, leading the team to Castle de Krake in the Black Forrest, where ultimately Peggy pushes the “Champion of Hydra” back into the portal and, with that, gets stuck within the portal (and Tesseract itself) herself – leaving behind Steve and Howard in the Black Forrest. Eventually the portal is reactivated by a power surge as seen in The Avengers and the end of Peggy’s episode. She re-enters the universe in modern times (2011) JUST before a second surge of power has Loki enter the universe again and the events of The Avengers take place.
NOTES:
Howard Stark is a very different person in her universe than in the MCU. Since Howard is very important for Peggy’s timeline and her as a person (being one of the few people believing in her and supporting her) and I do not feel comfortable with the way he changes character in the MCU, I have decided to make that decision. While Howard is not a GOOD person, his issues with his son (in Peggy’s universe) are not the same as in the MCU. For short: Howard did not ab*use his child in this timeline and that’s it. Tony and his father still had problems; yes, it’s possible!
Peggy and Steve started to become friends and fall for each other EARLY and way before they even thought about Steve getting the serum. They are both young, seeing Peggy is only 22 when she meets him and Steve is 25! I do not forceship with my writing partners and depending on plotting, this might be resolved in being just a CRUSH. I just find it important to note that they are young and this is the 40s during wartimes – it makes sense that they fell FAST.
Peggy’s time as Captain Carter is shorter than Steve’s time as Captain America. Steve went on ice in 1945! But since Peggy was never on the USO tour and never sold war bonds… It doesn’t make sense to stretch events of Captain Carter over years! Everything happened faster and earlier for her, so she was lost BEFORE 1945.
Seeing Clint recognises her at the end as Captain Carter, we can still assume that she is still well-known as Captain Carter, presumingly thanks to Flynn’s telephone call with the president and following propaganda. It’s also significant to note that things, while Peggy was MIA, went differently in her universe! Due to both Steve and Bucky being alive and the ending of What If… ? I presume that Steve became the Winter Soldier while Bucky was one of the founders of SHIELD (seeing he also got along with Howard).

THE AVENGERS - PEGGY CARTER CUT
We start off at the Joint Dark Energy Mission Facility and with Project PEGASUS. Only that we start a little before the film actually begins, with the FIRST POWER SURGE of the Tesseract, creating the portal through which Peggy Carter enters the timeline again, about seventy years after going MIA. Meeting Fury and Clint Barton, the latter recognises Peggy as Captain Carter, informs Fury and Peggy is told about the fact that the war is long over and she no longer in the castle in Germany, where she went missing. There is not much time to talk, though, as another power surge threatens the project and Peggy – as well as the facility – is evacuated. She is accompanied by a small team of SHIELD agents picked by Fury, since, of course, she will undergo further questioning.
Before the evacuation is finished, another portal opens, leading Loki into the timeline. Loki takes over Dr. Selvig and Clint Barton and escaped the facilities, with the sceptre and the Tesseract, in a dramatic car chase ending in the destruction of the Joint Dark Energy Mission Facility. During this time, Peggy Carter as well as the agents accompanying her, have made it far enough from the facilities, to stay unharmed.
Peggy Carter is taken to a secure place for questioning; it cannot be ruled out that she had something to do with Loki’s appearance at this point – while Clint has recognised her as Captain Carter and files of her exist in the SHIELD database, her sudden appearance only moments before Loki is QUESTIONABLE at best. While she is questioned, the Avengers Protocol has come into operation – Natasha is sent to find Bruce Banner, Phil Coulson contacts Tony Stark. The big change is Fury is questioning Peggy before she can believably explain that she had nothing to do with Loki’s appearance and wants to help. With this offer, she becomes part of the protocol and is taken to the helicarrier and which she meets Bruce and Natasha. She is, on her way to the helicarrier, briefed about the situation, about who she is about to meet and about SOME things that have changed in the last (ca.) seventy years.
Loki is finally discovered in Stuttgart, Germany, Natasha and Peggy arrive with one of the Quinjets to apprehend Loki, Tony appears while Peggy is fighting Loki and Loki surrenders in the end, being taken onto the Quinjet to get him back to the Helicarrier. These plans are disturbed by Thor’s sudden appearance; Peggy interferes in the fight between Thor and Tony simply because she has been given a mission and wants to end it – focusing on the mission helping her to cope with the new situation and the sudden TIME TRAVEL (from her point of view).Loki finally is taken to the helicarrier, imprisoned in the containment chamber originally built for the Hulk. Peggy discovers the Hydra weapons, the whole situation between the team is filled with tension (especially since there are still doubts about Peggy, her intentions and her sudden appearance – also noting that Tony might be bitter since his father talked about Peggy, too) and things only progressively gets worse, before the helicarrier is attacked. Peggy ends up working together with Tony. The fight is won in the end, Clint back on their side and Coulson’s death the reason TEAMWORK actually seems to work. They have lost Thor and Bruce.
The team is reunited in the Battle of New York, fighting the Chitauri invasion. The Avengers get their media attention – especially Captain Carter, who has suddenly appeared after seven decades again. Since Peggy was NOT found earlier than this, the whole media around her blows up more. For the Avengers she is labelled trustworthy as she helped defend New York (and the world) and fight Loki. Her appearance before him is seen as only a coincidence – her rather incomplete knowledge of the Tesseract not much of a help.
The events end with the new-formed Avengers having food at the Shawarma Palace; Peggy slowly realising HOW much has changed since her mission is over and there is nothing new to focus on. The slow, still awkward conversations at the Shawarma Palace fill her in about the last seven decades (even not completely).
NOTES:
She only reappeared in the timeline VERY close to the events of The Avengers, giving her even less / no time at all to get used to modern times than Steve had.
While Captain Carter IS well-known in the 21st century, she did not get as much media attention as Steve get BEFORE the events of The Avengers. After the Battle of New York, there will be more about Captain Carter on the news etc.
Peggy is helped by SHIELD after the events of The Avengers just as Steve was helped by SHIELD after being thawed. Modern times are overwhelming, the fact that she missed seven decades and the end of the war is heartbreaking and after demanding the files on the Howling Commandos and finding out that Steve went MIA, too, she has an even harder time to adjust. Since Bucky is a founder of SHIELD in this verse and still alive in 2012, she goes to visit him; they had become friends during the war after all! Sadly, he also does not know what happened to Steve.
I still see Phil Coulson as a fan of Captain Carter. There might even be trading cards of her, yes!

CAPTAIN CARTER - THE WINTER SOLDIER
We start off, early morning, around two years after the battle in New York, this time in Washington D.C., we’re we see Peggy enjoying a morning jog (she was always a friend of physical activities and doing sports after all) and passing a very familiar figure while running; more than once until we cut to show Sam Wilson, out of breath and making a humorous comment after introducing himself to Peggy – after which she introduces herself, too, even though it’s not necessary any more after the big news coverage of her person after the battle of New York. After a short conversation (including Peggy’s own list of things she still has to learn about this century and decade), Peggy gets a message from Natasha and is picked up shortly afterwards by her, too. Peggy is working for SHIELD as she is ever restless and having a job – even this one – is a stability and also a distraction from the missing seven decades.
Fast-forward to the Quinjet and the short briefing – the Lemurian Star has been taken over by pirates and since it’s supposedly one of SHIELD’s ships, Peggy is made part of the mission, too – a mission which is interrupted by the appearance of the Watcher and the events shown in What if…?Back from the battle against Ultron, Peggy meets up with Natasha again, who (on her own mission) has not only saved files from SHIELD on a USB drive but also found the Hydra Stomper – active and showing life signals from within. STRIKE interrupts before Peggy can get too close to the Hydra Stomper and she trusts SHIELD to take the Hydra Stomper back to main land. Since the technology of the Hydra Stomper seems to have been updated since Peggy’s last encounter with it (seeing it’s connected to computers etc.) and there being a life support system, she is sceptical whether opening the Hydra Stomper right there and then is a good idea. Only seeing, that the mission has not yet been finished. She’s torn and the battle against Ultron is still heavy on her, making her decisions not as wise and long-sighted as they might have been well-rested.
Back at the Triskelion, Peggy meets with Fury and is absolutely furious after being told that the Hydra Stomper vanished before the Lemurian Star could reached main land. She accuses Fury of not telling her the truth and having held back information since the beginning – leading Fury to take Peggy down to the basement and introducing her to Project Insight. Of course this project does not calm Peggy’s rage and she leaves the Triskelion to find distraction and to think of a way to find the Hydra Stomper herself (though SHIELD claimed to have been working on it).Peggy’s own search for an idea to find the Hydra Stomper, leads her to the Captain Carter exhibition at the Smithsonian Institution, hoping there will be some information about updates Howard Stark did to the Hydra Stomper after herself going MIA. She also meets with Bucky, living in a retirement home, hoping he could give her some information – and, afterwards, with Sam at his work place, hearing only the last bits of his conversations with the veterans. Meanwhile the events with Fury and Alexander Pierce take place, ultimately leading to Fury being attacked by a masked assassin.Peggy returns to her apartment, meeting her neighbour (Sharon Carter - her own niece, even though she is not aware of this fact yet!) and after being told, that she obviously left her stereo on, she proceeds with caution, finding a badly hurt Fury in her living room, who tells her that SHIELD has been compromised, handing Peggy the familiar USB drive, before being shot several times by the formerly mentioned masked assassin. Sharon returns, introducing herself briefly, but before her and Peggy can have a longer conversation, the latter says she can chase the assassin down – running after him and finally throwing her shield, which is caught by the man with an army-green metal arm, before he disappears. Of course Peggy does not recognise the man at this point – the last time she has seen him, he looked very different.
Fury is taken to hospital and proclaimed dead – Maria Hill takes his body, while Peggy is told by Rumlow that she is wanted at the Triskelion, a questionable invitation Peggy only follows after changing into her tact suit and retrieving her own shield. She meets Alexander Pierce and after a rather unpleasant conversation with him, she wants to leave, taken the elevator. The elevator fills up with members of STRIKE, who attack Peggy – and probably regret it soon afterwards, because she expected it and, unlike Steve, she does not hold back, ending with at least ONE person being thrown through the glass windows before she decides to jump herself and trying to escape the facilities to get back to the hospital where she has hidden the USB drive.
At the hospital she meets with Natasha, and after a moment of tension, unsure whether she can trust her or not, Natasha tells her about the Winter Soldier, which fits the description of the masked assassin. Peggy and Natasha drive to the mall to use one of the laptops at the Apple Store to pin down the source of the information before they are found by Rumlow and STRIKE – it’s to be noted that Natasha and Peggy used the same distraction methods as Natasha and Steve, leading to a kiss between Natasha and Peggy, which the former comments about in the car ride to Camp Lehigh, which Peggy still remembers from the Project Rebirth days. - At Camp Lehigh, they discover the compurized Zola, who tells them about the algorithm he wrote and it leads to the building being bombed and Natasha and Peggy barely escaping. They flee to a person Peggy has already started to trust: Sam Wilson.
At Sam’s, they try to come up with a plan (Peggy still wondering about the whereabouts of the Hydra Stomper), before Sam agrees to help them – revealing the military project involving advanced personal flight suits. They go back to Washington D.C., interrogate Jasper Sitwell on the intention with Zola’s algorithm and the involvement of Project Insight.
Sam, Natasha and Peggy are on the way back to the Triskelion, when they are attacked by the masked assasssin / the Winter Soldier, and after a fight, Peggy recognises the Winter Solider as Steve Rogers – who is able to escape just before Sam, Natasha and Peggy are arrested by STRIKE. Before they can be executed by STRIKE, Maria Hill, who posed as one of the members, rescues them and they escape to a secret facility, where they meet up with Fury, learning that he never died. Peggy is furious – throwing various insults at him, before focussing back on the mission they have now: Stop Hydra and Project Insight. Meanwhile Steve Rogers is brainwashed again. After stealing the suit back from the Captain Carter exhibition, the team moves back to the Triskelion, Natasha poses as one of the members of the World Security Council and gets into Pierce's office, while Sam, Maria and Peggy are concerned with stopping the Helicarriers and swapping the cards / chips. Peggy is attacked on the last Helicarrier by the Winter Solider. Even though she is badly wounded, she manages to swap the cards / chips after knocking the Winter Soldier unconscious – she tells Maria Hill over ear piece to destroy the Helicarriers while she is still on one of them, before she tries to rescue herself and the still unconscious Steve Rogers. She manages to get them both from the Helicarrier before it explodes, dragging the heavy, unconscious body of her former friend to the riverbank, before she collapses.
Fast-forward to Peggy sitting in a chair in a hospital room, watching a sedated Steve Rogers (secured to the bed with guard standing outside the door), before Sam enters the room and tells Peggy off for not being in her own room and bed; she looks tired and bruised.
Another fast-forward to the cemetery, overlooking Fury’s grave – a meeting between Peggy, Sam and Fury, interrupted by Natasha’s appearance, who was just heard at the United States Capitol. They talk about SHIELD and the downfall, as well as Natasha wanting to disappear again since she uploaded SHIELD’s and with that Hydra’s files to the internet. After handing Peggy a file containing information about the Winter Soldier / Steve Rogers and a kiss to her cheek, Natasha leaves, leaving only Sam and Peggy behind. They briefly talk about the plans now – Peggy wants to go after the people that have turned Steve into the Winter Solider. Sam replies: "I know. When do we start?"
NOTES:
Natasha still tries to set Peggy up with various people, suggesting both women and men they both have met. She does NOT suggest Peggy’s neighbour though.
Sharon Carter was still ordered by Nick Fury to have an eye on Peggy. Sharon knows that Peggy is her aunt but Peggy does not know about the relation until Fury is shot – and even then it’s just a brief comment from Sharon. They only talk about this after SHIELD’s downfall, while Peggy is still at the hospital.
The tension between Peggy and Natasha is the same as the tension between Steve and Natasha – meaning Natasha will flirt with Peggy! As always, I won’t force this onto my writing partners, but I like to leave this the same for my own personal timeline, finding it quite fitting. The Hydra Stomper is still not found.Steve Rogers / the Winter Solider remains sedated in the hospital and is then taken by a small trusted team lead by the Maria Hill to a secure location. Fury is also part of this.
This is the big difference between Peggy’s universe and the MCU, too - she never had to go after Steve / the Winter Soldier, because he is already captured.

THE AVENGERS - AGE OF ULTRON
2015. After the fall of SHIELD and after Hydra’s plans have been stopped, the Avengers are going after Hydra’s agents, trying to stop some splinter groups of HYDRA from succeeding with their own, megalomaniac plans. One of their missions leads them to Sokovia to stop Strucker, who has, according to the Avenger’s sources, experimented on human subjects, trying to create an even better group of soldiers for HYDRA than the Winter Soldier – who, in this timeline, is still kept in a secure location by Nick Fury personally. These experiments include the stolen sceptre used in the (attempted) invasion of New York by the Chitauri, some Chitauri technology and the same methods used on the Winter Soldier – brainwashing and conditioning. The subjects used for the experiments are civilians kidnapped from villages around the castle HYDRA uses as their base – including the twins, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. The twins are the only ones who survive the experiments done by Strucker, ending up with enhanced powers and brainwashed to listen to HYDRA’s commands – especially Strucker’s.
The Avengers try to get close to the castle – fighting against HYDRA’s soldiers and Tony finally manages to get close enough to the castle to destroy the barrier protecting it, gets inside and finds the sceptre, the Chitauri technology, but no sign of the taken civilians. Strucker commanded Wanda to use her powers to manipulate Tony’s perception and to use his own fear against him, which she does – being programmed to listen to Strucker. Wanda and Pietro also join the fight outside, making it possible for Strucker to escape.
The Avengers, having found the sceptre now, assume it is better to take the sceptre and leave, being sure it is wiser to continue their search for Strucker and the Enhanced at a later time. A jet takes them back to the Avengers tower, where Tony is responsible for the sceptre and its safety. After a short debriefing between Maria Hill and Peggy, the group splits up again, trying to find new intel on Strucker’s whereabouts. During this time, Tony has JARVIS scan the sceptre – the ‘program’ inside it is found and the idea of analysing the program is born as well as another discussion of ULTRON broken loose. It has to be noted, that Peggy has fought Ultron before, and even though those events were in another timeline / universe, she has reported this fight and told the story about it to her fellow Avengers in her own timeline. She might have planted the idea of Ultron in Tony’s head – or the idea that he could create a version of this AI, that could be useful to them. Maybe Wanda’s messing with his mind also turns the idea of Ultron being something truly evil into Ultron being something they need.
A few days of research on Strucker’s whereabouts and the Enhanced pass – leading up to the night of the party planned by Tony Stark, which Peggy only attends reluctantly, having been told that one evening of relaxation won’t hurt even her. She plays billiard / pool with Sam due to the lack of a dance partner, and can be observed actually having fun, being involved in conversations and having some of the drink that Thor offered to her. The nights ends with the classic scene of everyone trying to lift Mjölnir – something that amuses Peggy because she has lifted a different version of Thor’s hammer on her encounter with the Thor from another universe. She has not mentioned this part of the story to anyone and ends up being the last one supposed to try and lift the hammer, but before she can even put her hand on the handle, they are interrupted by a loud, high-pitched noise and Ultron’s appearance. A fight starts between the Avengers and Ultron’s henchmen (the reprogrammed Iron Legion). Peggy’s own rage is thrown into the fight, until Ultron uploads his consciousness to the web and the fight abruptly ends, leaving Peggy speechless and unable to move for a moment, until her fury turns against Tony, charging at him, a hand at the front of his shirt and holding him up against the nearest wall. She had warned him about Ultron! She had told him about the horrors she has seen and he really thought he could play God for that matter?! She is (slightly) calmed down by Sam and Natasha.Strucker is found by Ultron and killed by him as well – Wanda and Pietro are ‘taken in’ by Ultron as their conditioning hasn’t been broken yet. They agree to help Ultron because it agrees with the mission they have been given by Strucker: Destroying the Avengers. The Avengers meanwhile try to find out what Ultron’s next move will be – going through files, Peggy’s knowledge about Ultron proves useful, too, and they finally find something useful in the files; the mentioning of Ulysses Klaue. - They decide to meet him; their way leading them to the coast of South Africa, just as Ultron, Wanda and Pietro also have found their way to Klaue and the stolen vibranium. Another fight. Wanda’s powers are turned against the Avengers again, making them hallucinate (see notes). Tony and Bruce in form of the Hulk fight. The scene ends in all of them being on the Helicarrier on the way to a secure location.
Safe house. Clint took the rest of the Avengers here, where they meet his family. Thor leaves, trying to find out more about the things he saw in his hallucination. Peggy’s anger has returned – she hasn’t forgiven Tony yet and the hallucination, and the apparent win of Ultron made it worse. She separates herself from the group, letting out her anger outside – until Tony joins her and a (verbal) fight between them breaks out that draws the attention of the group to them. Natasha is the one trying to calm Peggy down, while Tony goes to find distractions – finding Nick Fury instead.
Nick Fury orders the team to the dining room and they have a conversation – Peggy, still full of emotions, tries to come up with a plan of how they can fight Ultron, since she has done so before and knows what could happen if they don’t succeed. The team gets ready and leaves the safe house to find Helen Cho.Meanwhile: Ultron has found Helen Cho and started his plan of printing himself a new body with the help of her technology. Wanda’s and Pietro’s conditioning is broken by the shock of seeing what Ultron has planned for humanity and the world; Wanda’s powers allowing her to see Ultron’s “dreams” and making her brother see the same thing.
The team arrives too late – Helen Cho has been wounded badly, and Ultron, Wanda and Pietro have apparently escaped with the pod containing the new but unfinished body. Natasha, Clint and Peggy go after Ultron – Peggy tries to distract Ultron while Natasha and Clint try to get their hands on the pod. They get help from the most unexpected source - Wanda and Pietro - which ultimately helps them to succeed. Peggy trusts them after a short explanation of HYDRA’s brainwashing; she has seen that HYDRA's conditioning can be broken and trust can be gained, as it has happened with the Winter Soldier and herself in her timeline.
She has however lost all trust in Tony and only reluctantly agreed to bringing the pod to him. Hearing Wanda’s words, though, make her doubt her own decision and she rushes back to find her worries were not unreasonable. The creation of (the) Vision takes place, followed by a conversation a lot less “civil” due to the nature of Vision’s physique, reminding Peggy too much of the Ultron she has seen before. She has a hard time trusting him even if he proved worthy of Mjölnir – it is not a real indicator for his trustworthiness on Peggy’s side, but she is outnumbered. The last battle.
Back in Sokovia. After a failed attempt of evacuating the main city and it now floating due to Ultron’s technology, Fury has his dramatic entrance with the Helicarriers. The evacuation continues while the Avengers fight Ultron and his seemingly endless henchmen, while Tony tries to come up with a plan of how to save the city and / or the planet underneath. Eventually they succeed – everyone is evacuated, Ultron destroyed with the help of (the) Vision and while Sokovia is blown to pieces, the world underneath still lives and so does its people.Fast forward. The new Avengers facilities. A lot of work is put into finding new homes for the people of Sokovia and Wanda and Pietro are taken in, not to experiment on them, of course, but to make sure Strucker’s experiments did not have (maybe fatal) consequences and side effects. Wanda and Pietro therefore also join the new training program lead by Captain Peggy Carter and Natasha. THE END.
NOTES:
Wanda and Pietro never volunteered for the experiments because that is utter bullshit! They are Jewish and certainly will NOT volunteer for experiments done by a n@zi organisation! They were taken by HYDRA, which also leads to the fact that they do not have a personal vendetta against Tony Stark, but they were rather brainwashed into having a personal vendetta against the Avengers as a whole. Since Tony also stated that he distances himself from the weapons he designed earlier, it makes more sense for me.
Peggy’s hallucination is slightly different than Steve’s. Steve is still a vital part in her hallucination but the setting is different and more private. It’s not a big party – but it involves memories she has with him, just as Natasha’s hallucinations are driven by memories.
Peggy remembers the fights with Steve at her side and she remembers the things taken from them – seeing that they certainly had ideas for after the war. Her hallucinations might include WINNING THE WAR with Steve at her side.
Natasha was never lost with the pod. I don’t acknowledge the weirdly done romantic scenes between Bruce and Natasha at all.Pietro doesn’t die. I don’t see a reason why he should die – he still helped to save his people, just as Wanda does but there is no reason to kill him off!
Bruce still vanishes with the Quinjet. The fight with Tony and the destruction in Johannesburg was enough to push him over the edge.Peggy has NOT forgiven Tony for creating Ultron – she understands, in the end, that it has to do with Wanda having used her powers on him, but he had thought about it before and that is a big break of his trustworthiness in her opinion; especially so, because he also continued with the creation of (the) Vision!
